April 30th, 2010 by Michael

Following on from our previous brand development work with Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, we have now designed and built the new Trust website. The site really brings the new brand to life with a wealth of informative content and real life stories to explore. Have a look at www.cumbriapartnership.nhs.uk

CSR – even in crisis it still makes (business) sense

March 2nd, 2009 by Rachel

Ok, I get it, we’re in a recession so CSR and all those promises you made in the glory days of 2007 regarding the environment and the local charities you were going to help have been put on hold.  You haven’t forgotten, you’re just tightening your belt, weathering the storm, playing the long game, ready to lavish your time, effort and money once the future looks a bit brighter.

The logic is there, albeit flawed: but consider this.  In many industries the hard times have encouraged businesses to look for lucrative public sector contracts where budgets have yet to be cut and are looking the most secure.  Of course public sector work demands the public money and there is no hiding from that boss, they’re everywhere, know everything and will have a tantrum to end all tantrums if they don’t feel they’re being kept in the loop.

Enter the tender process: long, laborious and sometimes disappointing, companies will spend hours making sure they are shown in the most favourable light.  You’re often competing like against like too, similar size, experience and cost structures.  So how do you differentiate yourself and generate that all important competitive advantage?

Every Can Counts Kicks off in Brum….

February 25th, 2009 by matt

There’s been a real buzz around Studio North HQ when I’ve been in this week as the team has been trying to get Birmingham businesses to ‘Can It’ following the launch of Every Can Counts! This fantastic initiative, which is funded by drinks can manufacturers, recyclers and government organisations as well as waste management service providers, is there to encourage local businesses and public sector organisations in the area to recycle the humble drinks can.

The guys have created a series of creative executions for the campaign, including; a full brand identity, the website – www.everycancounts.co.uk – which gives useful tips, hints and recommendations on how employers can do their bit! This week, a direct mailer is being sent out to 1,600 senior decision makers and will then be followed by HTML e-mails as well as both on and offline advertising in key local and business press including; Midlands Business Insider & the Birmingham Post so keep your eyes peeled!

The aim is to target the 30,000 tonnes of aluminium and 8,000 tonnes of steel from cans that are consumed in the workplace annually and are therefore not recycled through traditional kerbside schemes. So… if you’re in the Birmingham area, then why not speak to your boss and see if you can make a difference!
